Starships & Scoundrels

Drawde Ixonyu (or W. Dread, as he now prefers) was born in the mining town of Boit on the planet Dinzo. Even from an early age, his parents could tell he was too smart to waste his life long in the mines, so they sent him away to test into the planet's technical academy. He passed with flying colors and was admitted with a full-ride scholarship. This would be the last moment of pure happiness Drawde would experience. Pursued constantly by death, destruction, and betrayal, the now-cyborg Mirialan claims to lead the ragtag crew of his smuggling ship, the Mayday, while searching for that moment of peace that's eluded him for so long.

Keeba-Keeba, an Otolla Gungan, fought in the Bombad Army of the Gungans, serving alongside his son in the Clone Wars. During a battle on Naboo, the Jedi leading the republic forces made a tactical blunder. This blunder directly led to Keeba's battalion being nearly wiped out. Unfortunately, Keeba's son was among the casualties. Keeba took vengeance upon the Jedi, nearly beating him to death. For the crime of attacking a general in the army of the Republic, Keeba was permanently exiled from the Gungan cities. He wandered the outer rim, quickly finding that his fighting and tracking skills were valuable commodities, and sold his services to the highest bidder.

Umbren Boon, a Zabrak from Alderaan, grew up in a suburban family before joining the Hireling's Union. His passion for labor rights took him across the galaxy and introduced him to all manner of businesses, some of which... not so upright. His work with the Union was not what he expected. He became an enforcer of sorts for their labor disputes. That life spiraled deep into the underworld. He left the Union and became the world's worst smuggler. He and the crew of the Mayday take whatever jobs come their way and try to stay airborne.

Harry Johnson-Inyubuh was born on Kashyyyk. He tried joining the military just like his mother but wasn’t suited to following rules and laws. He knew he didn’t belong and searched for himself as soon as he could. He would travel from galaxy to galaxy protecting people that knew they couldn’t fight for themselves. After being muscle for hire he decided that he needed to do more to be more. He then got a chance to join a ragtag crew where he thought it was a chance to showcase his talents. Captain Umbren Boon gave him a chance and he took advantage. He learned to be a smuggler and thief among other things. He relished being feared by others. After the mission was successful he decided to start his own empire. The Inyubuh gang was formed and has been growing for the past couple of years now.

There are scattered records throughout the galaxy regarding the astromech droid registered as R5-HL, this is the most consistent collection available at the moment. The first mention of its construction is dated back to the Clone Wars, though few surviving holocrons from the Republic era mention the droid (usually to report unusual behavior or personality defects). From what can be gathered, it would seem the droid was noted for its single-minded commitment to flight. But its’ faulty memory, “stubborn personality” and frequent misappropriation of Republic weaponry (including one of the few recorded uses of blaster fire by a Republic droid) meant it was repeatedly reassigned to different posts once enough incidents had occurred. After ultimately being decommissioned records become much more sporadic, though it seems to have worked along with with various mercenaries or smugglers around the Outer Rim in between regular trips to the space station known as Kuscadia. It is unclear at this time if there is a link between these piloting jobs and any increases in droid personality glitches on their respective planets, though the correlation should be noted. As should multiple alterations in appearance that suggest undocumented repairs/alterations (source/extent unknown).
